• The first golden bracelet to ring the wrist of Erick Lindgren has arrived. The 31 year old poker pro, playing for almost ten years, finally got his first World Series of Poker victory this year in Event #4, the $5,000 buy in Mixed Holdem event. The California native and sports jock has cashed 15 times previously at the WSOP, but the victory has eluded him until now. His career earnings in the WSOP and the World Poker Tour approach $1.5 million. Lindgren overcame an enormous chip deficit to pull out the victory.
• Nottingham is the latest spot for the Virgin Poker Festival, following the success of other Virgin Poker Festivals in Newcastle and Birmingham . The event will play at the end of this month in the Dusk Till Dawn Poker Room in Nottingham . The largest poker room in Europe seems like the appropriate place to hold a poker event sponsored by Virgin, and the main event will have £5,000 added to the prize pool. Bounties on key players will be offered, giving players the chance to win prizes like vacations. The event will run on the 28th and 29th of June.
